Speech-Language Pathologist and Reading Consultant
Alicia Estes Ziegler is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Montevallo and holds a Masters of Arts Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Ohio University. She has over a decade of experience working with children in educational and hospital settings. She specializes in the areas of reading, spelling, reading comprehension, auditory processing deficits, and sign language. She completed the initial level and advanced level Orton-Gillingham training courses, which consisted of 190 hours of training with a practicum. Both courses were completed through an IMSLEC (International Multisensory Structured Language Educational Counsel) approved program. She currently collaborates with school systems as an independent reading consultant by providing comprehensive reading assessments along with educational collaboration and support, teaches in a university setting, and is a supervisor for teachers completing the initial level Orton-Gillingham training program. When she isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her family, admiring miracles in nature with her young daughter, photography, and playing the mandolin.
